DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD! I'll sleep well tonight.

It's finally over! For eleven years, disabled people like myself and other minority groups have been at best ignored and at worst vilified by the government. Howard personally hurt me- he took away my right to compensation for my injuries due to his changes to the statute of limitations, threatened to take away my disability pension and throw me into the workforce when my health is precarious, and he increased Uni fees to make it ever harder for me to improve my status. To see him lose an election and his seat due mostly to his own duplicity is sweet indeed.

And a good sleep it was!
Richie, John Howard's inhumanity regarding disabled people should haunt he and his supporters in perpetuity. It's hard to imagine a more despicable act than trying to save a few dollars by putting yourself and others with major disabilities into the workforce. There was never one iota of comprehension of, let alone compassion for, people's suffering from his government. Reading the papers today, I'm seeing the word "dismay" a lot with regards to Coalition supporters over his loss. Sadly, for them, they will probably never get it.
